"once I had an underlying belief (at least temporarily, after that weekend) that I am loved and have friends, it didn’t feel like such a big deal whether I connected with new people at this social."

^ This is a powerful revelation. Loved the honesty in this piece, and I hope the momentum is maintained through Omicron

Thanks Kasra, for writing this down. Unintentionally or intentionally, i have tried and failed at this experiment many a times and as you mentioned the first chain of thoughts always to tries to strike back but reading your process of coming over it gives me a perspective to keep trying!

Have a great day!

I love this!!! Needed to read this today. I love the last little note you’ve added - I think that’s important too, to recognize that sometimes people just aren’t into you/think you’re interesting/etc (and you absolutely feel the same way about other people) - but you don’t have to be for everybody, you just have to find your people. Also, love the reflection about it being cool to put yourself out there and getting rejected just means you’re stretching yourself (very anti-resume-esque)
